Dispensary

As a dispensing practice, if you live 1.6 km or more (as the crow flies) from a chemist, we are able to provide any drugs prescribed by your GP before you leave the surgery.  Identification may be requested when collecting prescriptions. Prescriptions (and other fees) can be paid in cash, by credit card or by cheque, but a cheque guarantee card may be required.

Dispensers

Dispensers are trained to dispense medications prescribed by the GPs . They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions , dealing with prescription enquiries and reconciling hospital discharge medication changes.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication may be asked to see a doctor or other member of the team at least once a year for monitoring and/or review of these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. If you decline nationally recommended monitoring then your medication is likely to be discontinued.

**2023 April UPDATE**  Over the course of 2023, we will gradually be scheduling annual chronic disease reviews (e.g Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, and Glucose intolerance) to take place during a patient's birthday month.  This may mean that your next review may occur either a little earlier, or later, than you may have anticipated.

Please ensure, if asked, that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
